Understanding and Influencing The Youth Market .

Nature to Nurture Connection

Every year billions of dollars are spent targeting the youth market with the intention of helping them gain employment, get an education or encouraging them to use a product/service. However, the truth of the matter is 74% of the youth market do not believe that brands engage with them effectively.

Who is speaking ?

A full day packed with industry experts, youth leaders & influencers as well as Year13's team of Engagement Specialists

Agency Partner - Facebook

Tom's own journey to his position now at Facebook is one that is deeply embedded in the DNA of Year13 as Tom's experience allows attendees to be given the most comprehensive insights into how you can maximise your efforts when using social media. Tom himself has founded a number of successful content platforms, has worked within large Media agencies in Australia such as Ikon Communications and Society Social (a subsidiary of Universal McCann). Tom now at Facebook is deeply connected to maximising his Agency clients experience on Facebook by giving unprecedented access to not only the latest techniques and technologies but specifically how platforms such as Facebook and Instagram can be utilised to have more meaningful connections with their audience.

Tom's Session

“Power What’s Possible” - Innovating the path to enrollment in a mobile-first world

Sustainable growth for higher education lies beyond lead generation and in building early and lasting relationships with current and potential students. Head of Research - Esher House

Darren’s PhD thesis addresses behavioural change in the unemployed and the impact of resilience upon job outcomes. Following a full-time MBA at the prestigious Cranfield School of Management, he grew a government-funded employment service company twelvefold. Upon selling the company to a division of the $300m turnover Anglia Ruskin University, Darren migrated to Australia to concentrate upon the research and implementation of behavioural science. He keynotes at conferences concerning employment, youth, offending, welfare and behavioural science, and is grateful to count many of the world’s leading authorities, scientists and senior civil servants amongst his direct contacts and friends.

Darren’s Session

Understanding The Psyche of Youth

Darren will be taking us through the behavioural science behind how young people make decisions about employment and their career. Darren has consulted for a number of government departments on this topic and so this will be a very rare opportunity for attendees to not only have the research provided by Year13 but an actual understanding of the science behind the behavioural patterns seen in young people when making decisions about their future.

 BUY TICKETS

Head of Engagement - Year13

The original Year13 success story and mother goose of Year13, Blake started alongside the founders as a freckly, 19-year-old university drop out. Constantly reminding the team that she did in fact ‘go to a selective school,’ Blake has completely broken the mould of whatever it means to be a dropout, working her way up from a freelance writing gig to become the operational backbone of Year13's movement. Blake's intimate understanding of the youth cohort drives the user experience behind year13 and ensures that we are never far from the pulse of Australian Youth.

Blake’s Session

Engineering Brand Alignment With Young People

Blake Shipley, Head Of Engagement and Emma Kocbek, Year13’s content Queen, will be giving unprecedent access to the expert application of knowledge that Year13 applies to its content strategy. A step by step blueprint to how your organisation can create content for your own marketing strategies.

 BUY TICKETS

Brand Visionary - Year13

“You’ll never get anywhere being the class clown.” Saxon is the founder of Year13, a boisterous and passionate visionary with a mission to help young people navigate the crazy cycles of life. Unfortunately, being 27, he does bring up the office median age to 23, but the energy he puts into the execution of his vision reminds us that this clown has a few tricks up his sleeve.

Saxon’s Session

Understanding the Psyche of Young People

Brand Director of Year13, Saxon will be stepping through how Year13 apply their intimate understanding of how young people are feeling, throughout their school and post school journey. Including strategy to position content effectively to maximize the engagement and influence your audience.

 BUY TICKETS

Strategy Master - Year13

Will’s whole life has been about building things- from Lego blocks to carpentry to engineering, and things haven’t changed. Will’s the man behind the machinery. He’s the type of guy that looks at data, understands it, creates a funky info-graph and then explains it to you in a way that leaves you thinking “ahhh that makes sense!”

Will’s Session

After The ATAR II: 'How can we help Gen Z make positive decision towards further education and employment'

Year13’s Strategy Director, Will Stubley will be showcasing the exclusive release of our second research paper After The ATAR II.
